Fiber Optics On Ruger LCP

After shooting my LCP over the last month, the almost non-existent sights were driving me crazy (and blind). I tried the little dabs of paint trick but that didn't help much.
After determining that the LCP slide was much too thin at the top for mounting any of the many after-market high-viz sights that were available, I choose to come up with my own.
I bought some .060 dia red and green fiber-optic and did my own mod. Although the short lengths that I needed to use don't light up bright like a longer length would, they definetly make a big difference over the stock sights.

I ball milled .060 dia slots in the original sight locations on the slide. I cut the fiber-optics to length, beveled the center edges and chamfered the outside edges and then used epoxy to adhere the short pieces in place. The chamfers and bevels on all the edges keep the gun snag free.

Although this mod will probably void the warranty it does make a big difference for me when I bring the gun up to quickly aquire a target.
