Default Magistrate court where guns abound and NO security

So I went to the magistrate as a potential witness in the infamous jewelry heist I foiled while half naked...

No metal detectors.... Plenty of plain clothed cops with guns and a few uniformed cops with guns. They were all there to bring their cases to the judge- not security. One overweight plain clothed cop had a little S&W shield in a blackhawk hanging so low on his waist that I thought his pants were going to fall off!! It looked silly on his big frame.

I thought there was a law about no guns in court?? There was a sign on the entrance about firearms not allowed. Is this just for civilians?

Security is generally a waste of tax payer money.
