Default First time out this year......

boy am I rusty. I took one of my Sigs to work today with 50rds, because I need to get the rust off. Went up into the neighboring old landfill and popped some caps. Just trying to get the rust off.

I wasn't really bad, but not up to what I expect of myself. Just need more range time.

Some guys were up there yesterday shooting clay birds and I stopped a few guys today going it. Thought they might have been illegally dumping, but they weren't. Actually, I've come across these guys before back in where I was. They were looking for a certain place to shoot their rifles. I gave them a little better direction and just told them to be safe and don't leave any of their crap behind.

Its sad to see the illegal dumping that goes on back here. Plus, people leave all there crap behind; empty ammo boxes, shotgun shells, etc. I wish this are was totally in my jurisdiction. At least I did find 50 .30/06 shells and about 100 9mm shells last week. Last night I was showing one of our new part-time hires the area and found a full 50rd box of .40cal ammo. I don't own a .40cal, but he did..........so he got the prize!

Yeah....but the "Calendar of Reality" makes it clear that crime occurs every month, year 'round.

Kudos to Steve for gettin' out there and shame on me for not having done it yet!

I took this as getting out late in the year. Was it meant to indicate that it is early in the year to shoot?

    Be safe.

Well, I would love to have been out earlier, but weather, work, honey-do's, etc. don't all seem to like to co-operate very much. Kind of like getting the planets to align.

Hey, I even went back to the general area just to snoop 'n poop around, see who's back there, etc.....and I found about 50 pieces of .45acp brass! Whoo hoo!

Thanks, for the confirmation The problem with shooting year round is you do not find all the neat stuff that Steve does when it is all covered in snow. Cool thing is he incorporates keeping some knuckleheads honest while shooting/training. That's a win/win.

    Be safe.
