I don't think he is questioning their authority to call witnesses, rather their legitimacy to question witnesses absent a ranking opposition member on the commission.

Maybe it's just me, but this seems like more BS pulled out of nowhere (2014) to baselessly slander Mastriano. After I read "Far right state senator" i really started to lose interest. This seems like a non story trying to be made into a "he's a dumb racist". If the media did this to the left they would never get elected.

The entire argument was that Mastriano's doctoral dissertation was sloppily written and that he college he went to didn't do a good job reviewing it.

Sometimes things get passed through the legislature because it looks good to the constituents, with full knowledge that it won’t survive the executive veto. Then when a Republican serves as executive, the same bills never even see a floor vote.
