    Default Center Point Optics

I've been checking this optic out for limited use with my AR. I just want a glass option for fun time plinking, so I'm not interested in dropping a bank roll on an ACOG or EoTech. I like the looks of the Center Point because it is a low profile red dot and should work and look better on my A1 style AR's carry handle. The specs seem pretty good too:

The CenterPoint 1x34mm Quick Aim Sight offers dependability and convenience, delivering a sight picture that frames each shot for dramatically improved performance, whether you're in the field hunting or on the shooting range. Features a dual red/green Dot with various brightness settings.

I bought a cheap tasco red/green dot at walmart for $45 and it's held up just fine. I've had it on a 9mm beretta storm, a ruger Mk III hunter, and on an AR-15... I haven't had a problem with it.

The dot is HUGE, and covers any paper dots I am shooting at, so I bucked up and paid for the eotech - this way i get a nice 1moa dot to aim with. And then if I want a 'combat sight' later, I have it now.

I don't know about the red dot, but I did purchase a 4-16x tactical scope from center point. The scope held up nicely on my AR and the glass is really clear throughout the magnification range. No complaints in that department. Accuracy is stable and solid, however, I did not do any repeatability testing with the windage and elevation.

All in all, I would buy other products from them. Just my $.02.

If you do purchase the red dot, let us know what you think. My interest is peaked now.

Unable to find the red dot MOA size. I'm guessing it's 5 MOA. Which means for human silhouettes or plinking (at close range 50 yards or less) its fine. For longer ranges and bullseye shooting you may find it covers to much of the target. At 100 yards that's 5 inches of target that gets covered by the dot.

Yeah, I can't find that data either, but I did dig up the user manual...

Reply from Center Point claims 4 MOA dot size! So this would be decent up to 50 yards but not much good past 100-150, yards I bet. But that is within my needs...so I may give it a try. (Actually, I think Santa is bringing me one for Christmas...so I'll have to wait on the range report!)

I just bought one and it didn't suit me very well, but then again I mounted it on a flat top and it was just too low. I have to get a riser for it. i liked it. Will let you know more when I get the riser, unless you report before then.
If zombies start chasing us, I'm going to trip you!
