Opinions on Gun purses
My wife is looking for a good, small purse for carring her pistol, a .38 S&W J frame with a four inch barrel. She doesen't like big bulky looking purses, just the small ones. Any suggestions out there?

If she has her mind made up about purse carry I recommend that you look into a purse that is designed for that purpose. I believe they have special straps that can't just be cut as a purse snatcher would do while walking by and grabbing. Make sense? There is some kind of metal in them. (I don't have one because I don't like the idea of purse carry myself but someone told me about them last year. Sorry, my memory is a little foggy.)

Not a big fan of purse carry myself, but then again, I really don't have the "proper equipment" to make that judgment.
However, from the holster shopping I've done online, I'd consider Galco (www.usgalco.com).

Pacsafe has several models of handbags that have anti-slash straps and a few other security features as well. (They also have some nice guy-friendly stuff, as well.) I don’t believe any of them are designated firearms carry handbags, but they demonstrate the concept of what you were talking about.

I have been able to convince my wife to carry IWB more often by mocking her "you're planning to arm the purse snatcher eh?" each time she purse carry.

women tend to have a much harder time concealing a firearm comfortably than men for many obvios reasons.
