    Thumbs up Doctors vs. Gunowners

    You'll love this one!

    Doctors vs. Gunowners

    Doctors

    (A) The number of physicians in the U.S. Is 700,000.

    (B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

    (C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.

Statistics courtesy of U.S Dept of Health and Human Services.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

    Now think about this:

    Guns

    (A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. Is 80,000,000.
    (Yes, that's 80 million)

    (B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is 1,500.

    (C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.

    Statistics courtesy of FBI
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Remember, 'Guns don't kill people, doctors do.'

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.

We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!
    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention!

That number of gun owners looks low compared to most statistics I've seen. How old is this? Has the FBI released the 2008 statistics yet? I'm betting it'll be a lot higher by the census in 2010.

This is no joke man.. I worked in a hospital going back some years ago and some of the stories I heard were unbelieveable. This post makes one story in particular come to mind. An older doctor performing a surgery accidentally knicked an artery on an eldery patient. I was told they did all the could but the patient was too weak to recover and she passed. The family was simply told she didn't make it but the nurse assured me the patient would have if not for the surgeons unsteady hand.
    Makes you wonder.

Not to bust your balloon but you do realize that some of these accidental deaths are probably from surgery for gunshot wounds so of course the death by doctors thing would be higher...

It also amazes me that people pick surgeons like they pick plumbers....good thing I don't have obama-care...the docs will be being paid the same as a plumber!

Thats why they call it practicing medicine. Its really no different than any other job. They make mistakes and people die. A mechanic makes a mistake and someone crashes and dies. An electrician makes a mistake and someone gets shocked and dies. I think its unfair to call doctors dangerous, and as far as the nurse and the unsteady surgeon goes, nurse have about 1/1000th of the education of a surgeon, so thake that for what its worth.

Of course... but the nurse was assiting in the OR at the time. She explained to me that the staff became very verbal about what occured. The were outright saying that they had to cover it up. But thats just how it was explained to me.. I'm just telling the story.
