Those of you who have seen Lycanthrope bumpfire without an elastic will also notice he keeps his hands on the barrel a lot... Yeah Yeah, he has cold hands, but in reality he is checking the temperature of his barrel, the average semi barrel is not made to shoot full auto long term, its the best way to warp your gun. If you intend to save money, think of it very short term, because long term, you will see a nice ~ warp ~ in the barrel.
When ever you see a full auto, take a look at the barrel, it is somewhat thicker, meant to take the extra heat.

Question - with an AR-15 can't you just buy an HB upper??

i didnt know we could bump fire at the range at PAFOA, Havent tried it with my new AK yet, if you come i'll give it a shot, might take me a try or two to get it down on a new gun, I've done it on a few other rifles before.

I dotn know that you "can" per club regulation, just know it was done. Mind you took about 30 seconds some one was there warning there where people shooting over the bern, and that we needed to watch stray bullets...

    Rookies.

Actually, the first M16's were "pencil" (thin) type barrels. You really have to hammer a bunch of rounds through to warp one, but you can speed up throat erosion getting them hot during bump fire.

That's why I bump my cheap AR's and not my customs. Barrels for regular AR's are a lot cheaper.
