A10 goodness

The A10 with out a doubt is my favorite plane. It's might be slow, but it makes up for it with that gun...

They use to fly by my office every day...

I wonder if they meant AC-130 instead of A-10. Kinda hard to be above the target (the blinking light) and fire down with a chin mounted 30mm like the A-10 has. But a M-61 20mm on the side of an AC-130...priceless! Just my opinion.

That sounds like what I've heard from the front of an A10. Mean, mean, mean planes. lol.. Next to the B52, the A10 ranks as one of my favorites.

I have a few pics of me beside one in my younger days, specifically the cannon.

If I can get them off my scratched up photo CD I'll post them.

The A10 has a 16,000 lb. payload in addition to the 1650 rounds of 30mm. That was a laser light up by the ground troops. Missle could have been one of many types.
