    Default Open Carry Hotline!

No, there isn't one in PA as far as I know, BUT it's a great idea (in my opinion anyway).

Go on youtube, and look up 'Open Carry legal in New Hampshire?' (because I'm technologically illiterate, and don't know how to put the video up here). And at about the 10:05 mark, he starts talking about the hotline he called, which they show at the beginning of the video.

Personally, I think this is a great idea for folks that either want to get this out in a massive way, or just to be able to have some sort of recording of your encounter if you don't have any other way to do it.

    Just a thought...any others?

Care to explain what you are talking about? Why do I have to go search for a video to figure it out?

If I remember correctly this is a broadcast radio station that OCers call when they are being questioned by LE. Other people can then listen to the encounter as its taking place, and a permanent recording of the encounter is saved.

The problem is that the "activists" that are using it are a bunch of grandstanding tools. If you watch them it seems they are more concerned with anti-government agendas and their own "fame" than any real defense of 2A.

    OK, here goes:

There was an OC'er who got stopped, and was about to get questioned by the police. He dialed up a hotline that a) broadcast his encounter all over the interwebz, and b) made a permanent recording of it, in case he needed it later on. I have a recorder on my phone, but not all phones do. This seems like a good tool to have.

And uh, no...I'm not volunteering. Just seemed like a cool idea, didn't know if anyone had put up anything about/like it on here.

    Just sayin'...

David Ridley has a lot of good info up there on NHOC. I've corresponded with him in email on several occasions.

Basically it's a VM box that if you get confronted you can call it and have the entire encounter recorded off site so that your phone cannot be seized and deleted.

    Interesting.

Why can't you call it from PA?

In that case, I think it's a good idea. I suppose all you would need is something like a magicjack and set up voicemail for it. Maybe make it go straight to voicemail and not ring.

If all that hotline does is record the event outside of the phone storage, there is an application for Iphone and Android called Qik Video. You set up an account and can record live to an offsite storage location. You can set it up so that certain people are notified when there is an upload. I suggest you look into it.

I'd like something for my normal dumbphone. It would be nice to have something like that on speed dial.
