Pleasantly Surprised With New Snubby Accuracy!!! PICS
Just got out for the first time with my S&W 642-2 today and was very surprised with its accuracy! I also have an sp101, and, for whatever reason, I can not do this with that gun.
This is 25M, standing, two hands, steady firing:
This is 12M, rapid fire, 5 shots in 3 seconds, two hands:

Snubby, with proper shooting tech, can yield excellent accuracy...
My 651 with .357mag DA trigger, slowish(slow enough to feel the click as you stage the trigger) rapid fire at 15yrds.
I can get tighter with .38SP load..Last edited by Mity2; February 27th, 2008 at 06:09 PM.

My 640 that I sold (insert kick in the ass here) was very accurate, even with magnum ammo as long as you could hang onto it.

This is about the truth!
Most snubbies comes with smallish grip, like mine.
When I grip the gun, my pinky have no where to go. So gun jumps all over the place, thus makes very unpleasent to shoot.
Some aftermarket grip would fix this issue but extending the grip so that pinky have some place to rest. But then that would negate the entire reason why snubby's grip was so small in the first place.
CTC laser grip I want is like that. long grip that allows you to place firmer grip, that give you more accuracy, but then I cant no longer be able to slip my gun my my pocket, due to bigger grip.Audemus jura nostra defendere

This all comes down to keeping your eye on the front sight. I guess maybe having less rear sight to distract you makes it easier?
