News junkies, social studies teachers and anyone just fascinated with the outpouring of information related to the upcoming G-20 summit in Pittsburgh might want to play around with this Web site set up by a local advertising agency.
Mullen's new G20Buzz.com is set up to pull information from online services such as Google News, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. Anything that's tagged with the G-20 label should show up, said Aaron Clark, who designed the site for the Strip District agency.
"I wanted to put it all in one place," said Mr. Clark, who estimated it took about two months from conception to launch.
Mullen has done similar sites for major events such as the Super Bowl and the Academy Awards, said Brian Bronaugh, president and executive creative director. Because tracking social media and experimenting with its uses is all the rage in the marketing community, the agency thought a G-20 site would be both helpful to potential users and offer useful experience for its own future marketing efforts.
So far, there haven't been a lot of hits on the site, but the agency this week sent people out to local universities to hand out information to raise awareness among students. Mr. Bronaugh said it wasn't a big investment.
Mr. Clark said the pace of G-20-tagged content coming in is already speeding up from the launch two weeks ago. Next week, with thousands of journalists weighing in along with protestors and even amateur photographers, he figures it will change even more rapidly.Last edited by archangel689; September 22nd, 2009 at 03:21 PM.

PsOS deserve to have mudholes stomped in their guts for putting Old Glory on the ground, let alone the Union Jack and the Bundesflagge.

Embedding has been pulled and now the video is invite-only. That didn't take long.
