Default Do they make a lever action in .40 S&W?

I am looking to buy a little lever action "trapper" model carbine with a 16 inch barrel. I know many are sold in pistol calibers. I have seen them in .357, .45LC, and .44 mag. Since I shoot a .40 S&W pistol I was wondering if anybody had one in that caliber.

If you know of one or the best place to buy a Winchester or Marlin "trapper" model at a good price would you please tell me?

I would be interested in any caliber, but prefer the .40 S&W.

    Nope, none...

With exception to some rimless rifle cartridges, they are all pretty much rimmed cartridge guns.

Also, pointy bullets and tubular magazine = bad things, very bad things.

Winny's aren't in production anymore, luck of the draw on finding one in a shop or online auction ($400-$3000).

The Marlins can be ordered at just about any gun dealer.

As they say, 10-4 on that one!

Who would have thought that these things would have become so expensive?

Marlin and Winchester have very long histories. Both make/made firearms to last for generations. I have a Marlin Model 1893 32Win Spl with a 4 digit serial number that shoots exceptionally well. My Win model 94 Trapper in 45LC will hit where you put the buckhorn type sights each and every time. ....Both cycle flawlessly. One was made in 1903 and the other in 2003. You pay for quality..

Since Winny stopped production they have become a collectors item. I've seen some Win lever guns go as high as $12K on the online auctions. Most go for $500 to $1500 - except the Model 94 30-30's which were a dime-a-dozen.

My first ever deer rifle was a Model 94 in .32 special. Guess I should have held on to it.

    Darn -

Well, I want a trapper - that is my current GAS!

Gunsamerica.com usually has a few Winny Trappers.. $450-$800

Legacy Sports(Puma) also makes a Trapper type levergun in 38/357, 45LC, 454 and 480 flavors. You probably will be able to come in under a Winny or Marlin dollarwise with a Puma.

I haven't heard any bad of them. ...well, other than the questioning of using brass receivers on a 44mag rifle. But I've yet to hear of one KB'n.
