    Default Colt officers model revolver

I was wondering if anyone can help me with some info on my father's Colt officers model 22 revolver. I would like to figure out how old it is and maybe a value range. Its in great condition just needs cleaned up and reblued. I have found many online just like it selling for $700-1100. I'm cleaning it up for my father and just deceided to look it up and I was surprized to see how much they were goin for. My father had no clue, he just thought it was an old peice of junk. So if anyone can help me, it is much appreciated.

At $700 or more, you're probably seeing the asking price, not the selling price (figure $250-$450, realistically).

refinishing it, will kill the value.
leave the original finish..or what's left of it be.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

+1, antique guns are one of those things refinishing hurts the value. Not sure if this qualifies as an antique, though. Sorry, can't help with the date.
