The Philip G. Kline Firearms Law Workshop Series
Hey folks, I wanted to provide some background on the workshops that Phil Kline, Esq. has put together.
At the end of 2008 I spoke with Phil and requested that he come up with a 2 or 3 part lecture series on firearms laws for PA Gun Owners. A couple of years ago I was denied on a PICS check (I've no criminal record or anything that would preclude me from purchasing a gun) and through his legal workings Phil turned the process over (absolute reversal of the denial) in a few days.
This had lingered in my mind for a couple of years as I encountered more folks who came for training. We have ample opportunities to engage in training from the very basic level all the way to the advanced levels of facilities like Blackwater. Yet, there seems to be a minimal opportunity for folks to sit with an attorney and ultimately ask questions regarding gun laws in a comfortable environment.
I have used Phil as my attorney for the NRA Personal Protection Inside/Outside the home courses (Lesson III). The interest (and attention) has always been the highest during this lesson due in part to the subject (Firearms and the Law) and more importantly the guy delivering the lecture.
We will be posting some training venues here on the forums once we have finished securing training dates for Feb/March/April. In the mean time, I've put a page up for Phil's seminars @ http://klinelaw.jsholsters.com/.
Unfortunately the system bit me a couple of years ago; a right delayed is a right denied. Fortunately, Phil immediately resolved the issue and I have not had a PICS issue since. I have also referred friends to Phil for legal work concerning firearms and by all accounts the results have been 100% positive for my friends.
That says a lot.
I look forward to meeting many of you at Phil's classes.

ETA: We have a registration form up. Phil is running a "recruitment" initiative; if you register four people (with payment), the fifth seat is "gratis".Last edited by js1050; January 7th, 2009 at 01:49 PM.

We have dates for Hellertown/Langhorne, the current schedule is @ http://klinelaw.jsholsters.com/ as well as the registration form.
We are still awaiting word from Easton Fish and Game regarding the use of their club house and available dates.
Hellertown is only 15 min from Easton and has a larger capacity for parking and participants.I may be out of the Marine Corps but the Marine Corps is in me for life.

Very cool. Have to check the finances but I'd really like to make it to one of the locations.
If you're keeping a preliminary head count, put me down as a "highly likely" for all three sessions at Langhorne. We the people have not only the right but the responsibility to hang tyrants for treason.

Re: The Philip G. Kline Firearms Law Workshop Series
This is GREAT! I've often wanted to speak with a lawyer familiar with firearms laws. I'm going to check out what location is closest for me and if I can make it. Is he going to be giving these seminars as an ongoing thing or is this once and done ?

Re: The Philip G. Kline Firearms Law Workshop Series
We hope to continue this series throughout 2009, but we have to make it through the first three. We are trying to balance venues/times to create as great an opportunity for engagement as possible.
We've also discussed migrating the classes "west", but the pre-registered response will have to be great enough to offset travel expenses for Phil.
We started in eastern PA primarily because our firearms training group has strong relationships with a handful of ranges. I would love to hear from Phil that clubs are contacting him to bring the lecture series to their club and recruiting their members to attend the sessions.
It is my dream that Phil attain "rock star" status in the RKBA community. Men will envy him, women will seek his company.
