If it was airsoft ok. But live rounds even if you do have to rack the slide. No freaking way.

I'm betting it's real. But I would never do it.

I was wondering if it was simunitions or something like that, but even that could do some serious damage if held to the head. And it's definitely not airsoft.

I dunno... if you're aspiring to the world of in-theater private security when you expect hostilities and firefights then maybe this makes sense. No way I'd ever do it, but if you're hard-core into private security maybe this is the training you need?

I'm not sure I'd trust a training program where they can't even afford new targets between each demonstration.

It sure is nice of the perpetrator to let go of the gun and lay down while the good guy turns and shoots.

Wow. This sorta reminds me of this thread:

Right now my sarcasm-ometer is broken so I can't tell if this is an honest question or not. If it is...

One of the advantages to Krav Maga is that is claims to remain adaptive and open to new ideas. It is also one of the few martial arts that leans more heavily towards combat than art/competition. In light of this, it is not bad training to have if one is serious about protecting themselves. This is a gun board so I should not have to go into the advantages of training with firearms.

However, combining the two how they did... . I was waiting for the negligent discharge into a head or back. Even if they want to do some sort of force-on-force training and firearms training, the way the combined it is extremely dangerous. I honestly can't think of a single legitimate reason to combine live ammunition with hands-on training like they did.

As others have posted, if they wants to demonstrate/train in their transitioning skills and accuracy, airsoft would have been a much safer way. In fact, I don't know why they couldn't demonstrate their skills with a dummy gun and then later demonstrate the firearm skills.

Yeah, but they saved the victim! She only took three ricochets to the face off the perp's gun, and if she had moved an inch, her skull and arm would have been blown open, and if his finger flinched when he got shot, she'd have a big hole in her head, but that's what you get for hiring a bunch of overzealous cowboys.
