    Default Henry GoldenBoy, or Browning BLR?

    Looking at a Goldenboy in .45-70, or a BLR in .358 or 7mm-08..........

    Why so many choices????????????

    go with the Marlin 1895 Cowboy in .45-70, you'll love it. if you were closer, i'd let you shoot mine.

    2nd choice would be the BLR in 7mm-08

    i guaranty if they had one in stock, you would not have this problem of deciding.

    you want me to take a photo of mine so you can see what your missing....... 24" barrel, 9+1 capacity, rated for hot hot handloads.........

    When did Henry start making the Golden Boy in 45-70?

    As much as I like Henrys, I much prefer my 45-70's to come from Marlin.

    While I have never shot a Henry, I have a lot of experience with the BLR. I have only good things to say about it. Mine is chambered for the 358 round. It is very fast, and accurate. Great for woods hunting. The 358 is no slouch as a cartridge either. I would be tempted to go with a smaller caliber at this point of my life however.

    We had a 1866 Ub. for a while and the brass was a pain to keep polished. Unless the Henry has some kind of a finish there is no way that we would buy one.

    My mistake....
    I thought all the Brass reciever'd Henry's where Golden boys., and I mis-read the tag, it is .45 Colt....

    So much for the Henry...........

    Now, it's .358 vs. 7mm-08, for the BLR........,
