Phone campaign for HB-40
I know many of us, for a variety of reasons, cannot make it to Harrisburg for the 18th and 19th to support this bill.
But no-one doesnt have the time to make a few calls.
here's how it works.
Call at least 5 of the reps listed below.
Tell them to SUPPORT HB40, wether that means you speak to them directly or leave a message with a clerk including your contact info.
post about it
me and everyone else in the thread will rep you.

Re: Phone campaign for HB-40
well, just got off the phone with a few and one said
"oh, are you calling about HB40? Weve had a hundered calls today."
me: "well, make that 101"
Most times they are not in or available, but you can leave a message. A good sample script for those of you that are new to this:
"Hell, is the represenative in ? "
"no, he/she is __________"
"Could you please take a message for me ? "
"Sure."
"My name is ______________ . I am aware that HB40 will be coming up in committee on the 19th. Please communicate my support for that bill. Thank you. "

Re: Phone campaign for HB-40
Are these reps on the list those who are on the fence or don't support the bill? I don't imagine we'd be using our time to contact those who already support the bill.
Here's one who (last I knew) does not support the bill.

We need the Philly residents to let him know they support this bill & vote!Let us never forget the sacrifice of those who have fought for us all.

Re: Phone campaign for HB-40
Had to wait for an important phone call before I could start, but then called Rep White & found out he is a co-sponsor on the bill.
called Ronald Waters next & got an answering machine since it's now 4:59PM
Left a message telling them I support the bill
I'll make the rest of the calls on Monday.
(notice how I started in the middle with the Dems & am working my way up the list... then I'll do the GOP. I was figuring if everyone calls the first few & then gets distracted or tired & stops thinking they may not have gotten them all but they at least did their part, the ones at the end of the list wouldn't get as many calls... & I figured the GOP would be the ones more likely to already be on our side on this. Wouldn't ya know it I'd pick a Democrat who is co sponsoring it as my first call!)Last edited by 87th PVI; November 13th, 2009 at 06:06 PM.

Re: Phone campaign for HB-40
I had no idea about the phone campaign until now.
I had sent all my emails while I was working to help show my support.
I'll be making all my calls on Monday.Madame71- Bersa .380 Thunder & Ruger SR9

Shawn:
Rep. Joseph Petrarca's local office is less than a 5 minutes walk from my front door, if you think there is any benefit to deliverying something in writing rather than just a phone call...
