Default S&W mod60 Pro Series...would i be an idiot if..

If I had the barrel cut down to 2" or 2 1/4"? I already own the weapon and aside from getting some custom leather made for it, no one seems to make a holster(that i want...) for the 3" barrel. Soo that said...would I destroy the value of the pistol? Or just do it because its my dam gun and i do what I want! Thanks for any help guys....oh and if ye say cut it i'll be lookin for a GOOD gunsmith...

Ahh, how I love wheel guns.

No need to fire up the bandsaw, you can have the revolver re-barreled. No cutting needed. Shop around for an additional barrel and find a good gunsmith to change it out and shazaam.

Since you are in bucks county, John Robinson at Classic Pistol in Southampton would be a good man for the job.

Personally, I do not think you are crazy. It is your wheel gun and you should do what makes you happy.

what type of holster are you looking for?

bladetech or comptac should be able to help you, contact them, they can make most anything from kydex without much trouble.

and Lucas, on here, could do you custom leather.

both choices are cheaper than mods to the gun.

is there any other reason to cut it?

I've always been a modify it and make it yours kind of guy, but that's one I'd leave alone.

Of course, making me happy should be WAY down on your list of priorities.

Re-Barreled! Who woulda thunk it....I hate takin the easy way out! Thanks guys for the ideas that i refused to think of myself...hahahaha.
For the record, I dont like kydex cause it beats up on the finish too much and leather is way more comphy for me

Well Heck, You're just up the road from me and I would trade you for it.
I dont want to part with my 1 7/8" model 60, But I would think you could trade into one real easy.
    Please dont cut!
Is there something in the Smith and Wesson wheel world you'de be interested in trading the 3" model 60 for?
    Oh, Is it a pre-lock?
And it could be sent to S&W and rebarreled, And if asked, They will send you the old barrel back, Just dont cut it!

Yes, you would be an idiot to cut it. Just my two cents.
