I got my first 1911

I bought it. It's a Colt M1911A1 U.S Army SN 798,XXX.
This all means nothing because it has been blued and had a Timiny(sp) trigger and Pac grips, and a match barrel with sights added.
It's a shame but it is still a sweet firing pistol.
Very accurate.

It hadn't been fired since 2000 so it needed a good cleaning and lube.
Wow, what a difference breaking one of these down compared to my modern pistols.

But it was fun and quite the learning experience.
For some reason it doesn't seem to be heavy as I remember other 1911's being.

Yea I know now, I was told it was a '43 but it's really a '42.
