Wilson Combat muzzle brake?
Anyone here shot this thing?
So far I've read 2 good reviews on it, from some relatively good sources.
Anyone shot it at night?
I hear it works better than most brakes as a flash suppressor, and better than most flash suppressors as a brake.
Any comparisons between this and other devices on the market would be most useful, I've not found any pics of it shot at night, nor first hand accounts of how blasty it is.
Thanks.

Re: Wilson Combat muzzle brake?
Plain old flash suppressors offer nothing in terms of muzzle braking and most muzzle brakes increase muzzle flash.
There is one product on the market that's better than most, the DNTC Tactical Compensator. http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/v...=2&idproduct=9

Re: Wilson Combat muzzle brake?
What is your intended usage for the rifle you're putting this on? If you think you need the flash supressor, choose that because recoil just isn't all that bad on a 223 AR. If it's a match-only gun, put a pure compensator on. The EGW Race Comp is great if that's your need.

Re: Wilson Combat muzzle brake?
It's going to be a general defensive carbine. Not intended for use indoors...for now.
Mostly training courses, and to keep handy if the time comes to head for the hills.
I intend to use it in some 3-gun matches, but just to stay sharp, not to "game it" and chase scores. The gear will be selected to win the fight, not the match.
It needs to be light, mobile, bombproof, and effective out to ~300 yards or so. Beyond 300 yards, I think it's time to turn to a different weapon system.
The qualities as a flash suppressor only matter, to me, in the context of the SHTF usage, and being forced to engage targets at night. I just don't want to loose my "night vision" (as in my eyes having been adjusted to low light) if I need to put rounds on a target. The brake/ comp qualities would help during any non-night engagement...and I don't intend to do much room clearing with buddies...so I'll give up something there.
In short, I'd like to take as much advantage as I can of the qualities that will help me to hit the target faster, provided they don't provide a significant hindrance to my ability to fight with the gun out to 300. I'm not super concerned with front side signature...just what I as a shooter experience.
Thanks!

Whatever you do don't buy the WC from Command Surplus
http://www.google.com/url?sa=U&start...IRXEVTl9w3XVAw
The DNTC is GTG but you may also want to check out the Vortex.
