Default What do you think of the Colt Delta Elite?

I saw one brand new in American Arms and Ammo an hour ago and I really would love to have a gun like that. Powerful cartridge, quality steel construction, just something special to have and occasionally take to the range. Maybe, once in a blue moon, I might carry it if I bought it. I really like the size of the gun, just a little longer reach to the trigger than a normal 1911.

I had the Original Delta Elite 10mm from years ago. Excellent weapon. Ammo just got too expensive so I traded it at Cabelas.

It is a work of art, to me. I would love to own one, but that many coins will get me two other guns. If I hit the lotto, I am going to buy a collection of nothing but CDE's. I chose it as one of the top three all time pistols ever made, up until now, anyways. If it were a little lighter, I would rate it #1, ever. JMHO

Some people compare this round to a .41 magnum, but out of this pistol, it does not kick at all like a .41 mag. revolver. To me, it feels like a hot .45APC, and it is very accurate. It does not have the best trigger I have felt on this platform, but it doesn't suck, by no means, and a trigger job is an easy fix.

Dude, also, if you can afford to enjoy a gun like this, go for it. It is a wonderful pistol to shoot. I don't care what anyone says about Colt this and that, or give me a WC or LB, this is an exceptional gun.

It's my second favorite 10mm. My fav is still Gen 3 S&Ws like my 1006 but that is one that is definately on the short list of ones to buy. Unfortunately there are a few others that rank a bit higher on my list of wants so I might not see one for a year or so.

I would consider it a decent price for what AA&A normally charges. It was a cool thousand. Considering that Buds last listed price was $949 a year ago, I don't think its too much of a rip. Not that I have a grand lying around, I'd throw that shit on layaway.

A Very cool package on a 1911 platform Colt Delta Elite is the one. At one point it was predicted to take over the handgun world that an the Brent 10 was an 10mm promoted by none other then Jeff Cooper himself. Only the Delta Elite survived that era its still a bad mother shut your mouth!!

If you found one at a good price buy it.

I found one of them at my local 'dealer', and almost bought it for a grand last year, but the Python was more important to me at the time.
For a grand, I would buy it.
