    Lightbulb Childrens Gun Safety Videos

My nephew has just started living with me. Its been a big change in my life. I've never had so many guns in my safe before, Im used to having one stashed in about every room of the house. Now they are all locked up. Ive been teaching him firearm safety. He likes to shoot and does pretty well with my (his if you ask him) 10/22. I got to looking for some onlive videos. He learns things he sees on tv or in cartoons well ( I think we all remember school house rock with the bill on the steps of the senate building). So I decide to post some links on here that others may be interested in. Hope people can use them to properly train children.

This should be mandatory in all schools. At the very least in every rural area where it's common for the majority of folks to own guns.

it should be the starting point of discussion with children.

I watch it with my 4 year old.

    We go over the rules

    stop
    don't touch
    leave the area
    tell an adult

we practice this with a " toy" gun.
Occasionally I leave the "toy" around...and wait for the "daddy I found a gun"
we rush into the room where I left it
"show me" .. great job in doing the right thing... did you touch it?...etc

It is growing in to when at a friends house...daddy... he has a gun... thanks for telling me, you are allowe to play with THAT one...gotta ask for each one... every time.

it is working out so far.

My son has it instilled into him that he needs to find a 'ponsable' (responsible) adult.

"Daddy, if I find a gun, I hafta tell mommy and not you!"

    "Why is that, Pat?"

    "Mommy said you're not a ponsable !"

    I guess I lose again.

Bt the way, the NSSF has a great free CD with MacGruff for the little ones, something a bit more advanced for the older kids, and something for the teens...

True, but some of these whacked out liberal moms would shit bricks!

You remember that mom who's son got arrested by the feds? "There were guns, I don't believe in guns."

Yeah, people like her would be making irate phone calls to principals.

Sad part is most of these spineless school administrators would cave and the media would try to spin it as "teaching our kids how to use deadly weapons in schools" or some such shit.

If you are a teacher, i believe that you can get the DVD at no charge, otherwise the cost is nominal.

This one is good if you ever decide to take him to the gun range.
