I saw it. Unbelievable.
Considering the possibility that the animals might "walk", I think they should be required to do just that. All the way from the courthouse to the airport. Then we could start a pool on how far they'd get. My money is on 17 feet.
Oh yeah, their defense team should escort them."Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions." G.K. Chesterton

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that they will walk, but not before having made an anti-American media spectacle of the entire trial.
The bottom line is, they will have to change venues because there is no way in hell the people who blew up the WTC are going to get a fair trial in New York.
My prediction since the moment they announced constitutional protections for them was that they would get a venue change to some place that is friendly towards terrorists (like Berkeley or something), make an anti-Bush, anti-American media frenzy out of it, ending in acquittal.

I have NEVER been closer to throwing my TV than when I watched that. Smarmy motherfucker, "I don't think it was 3000" and "I'd be proud if they walked". Oreillys restraint is amazing, I would have been over the table to choke this guy to death by the second minute of the interview.

What's the idea of giving these scumbags a fair trial, anyway? This is America, for crying out loud! Fair trials are for bleeding heart liberal sissies. Fuck "innocent until proven guilty." Execute them first, then try them, I say. Bill of rights schmill of rights.

They have had our constitutional rights conferred upon them. They may as well be American Citizens now. They are now entitled to a fair civilian trial, like it or not. Fuck you very much, Mr. Obama.
I am just using that point to explain how it will be manipulated in order to let them walk, and to make sure those 3000 people, their families, and the Nation do not receive any justice for what was done to them.

Exactly! And not just Obama--fuck those idealistic sky pilots who said, "No person shall ... be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law..." The flaming assholes who said that knew that "no person" includes everyone, not just American citizens, but they went ahead and said it anyway. They obviously put their damned ideals ahead of our survival as the freest, most just nation in the world. But I know they're watching right now from some fiery hell, relieved that we aren't letting their bullshit stand in the way of justice.
I am just using that point to explain how it will be manipulated in order to let them walk...

I smell the distinct odor of facetiousness here.

Here's the problem with giving people who are apprehended by the US military a civilian trial. It further hamstrings the military. We will now require our military to Mirandize all that are apprehended. Since these individuals were not Mirandized none of the evidence collected will be admissible. Much of the evidence will not be discoverable since the sources will not be able to be cross examined. How exactly is a fair trial going to be had in a civilian criminal court?

Re: Scott Fenstermaker attorney for the 9/11 terrorists on O'reilly
They can still get Due Process of Law in the Military Judicial System under which they SHOULD be tried as the perpetrators of an act of war. My beef is with conferring upon them near-Citizen status and trying them in a civil court for an act of war.
ETA BTW: The right to due process is not inalienable
