Police Charge Man Whose Gun Discharged In Friend’s Apartment

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- Uniontown police charged a man with murder after his gun discharged in his friend’s apartment.

Investigators said it all happened at 54 West Craig St., a house which was turned into apartments.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Blaine Salutric on the floor with a gunshot wound to the right side of his stomach.

Investigators charged Johnathon Reyes with criminal homicide.

He told police that his gun discharged and the bullet hit Salutric as he tried to secure his weapon in his holster.

“They just came over to play music in this one boy’s apartment and one guy was playing with a gun or whatever he was doing with it,” said Gary Raffle, the owner of the property. “I guess the gun went off, which I think it shouldn’t have been loaded in the first place. He had a permit for it, I guess, the one that had the gun.”

Salutric died at UPMC Presbyterian. Reyes remains in the Fayette County jail without bond.

Ain't that the sad truth, if he had a badge he wouldn't set foot in a cell or lose any paychecks. Shame it happened though.
