NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
Since hollow points are a no-no in New Jersey, what is a good choice for for personal defense in 9mm?

Re: NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
Federal EFMJ should be legal. Not a hollow point. Expands for enhanced stopping power. If it can be confirmed as being legal in NJ it is definitely the way that I would go.

There may be a few odd ball ammos that you may squeak by with in the PRNJ, but anything that expands can be a potential problem.
That is why you get a .45 if you want an auto.

Re: NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
personal defense where? hollow points are legal in jersey...in your home, at the range, for hunting, etc.
so, if the question is "for personal defense in the home", hollow points would be the answer.
if the question is "for personal defense while carrying', my question would be...how the heck are you going to manage to be allowed to carry in NJ?F*S=k

Re: NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
HP's are legal at home in NJ.. ...and since sightings of bigfoot and the Jersey Devil have been proven to exist with more factual evidence than NJ carry permits have, it makes things rather moot - the only lawful place to carry would be at home... ...which HP's are legal at.
If you have one of the mythical NJ permits, you're bounded to using FMJ's, semi-waddcutters, waddcutters, round nose, Keith style, etc, while carrying outside your home..RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515, SteveWag

Re: NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
Does anyone know of a commercially produced WC or SWC in 9mm? That would be the way I went if I had a mythical PRNJ license to carry. Instead of moving flesh to the side, it chews right through. Think new razorblade verses rusty blade.

Re: NJ Defense Ammo for 9mm
I have a great suggestion.
If you're looking for a good defensive ammo for 9mm, I'd suggest the following 2-step method.
1) EVACUATE THE GARDEN STATE! Come to the "State Of Independence"! (PA)
2) Federal HydraShok, Remington Golden Sabre, Speer Gold Dot are 3 that come to mind.
