If its appropriate for the Military I think case law has established that this is exactly the kind of weapon the citizens have a right to own.

They talk about hitting targets from miles away, thats BS, the math that goes into a 1-mile shot, and the variables are just astounding, it is possible but not practical...

just another bunch of people who have no idea what they are really talking about...business as usual

heres their take on "stand your ground" and the castle doctrine
    It's Not a Movie. It's the Law.
The NRA is working to pass a law that makes murder legal in the United States. It's been called the "Shoot First," "Make My Day," or "Deadly Force" law, but call it what you want, it's a License to Murder. That's because instead of requiring anyone who feels threatened to retreat when possible, it allows them to fire at will, regardless of the consequences. One killer has already been set free, and other criminals and their lawyers are already drooling at the thought of using the NRA's "Shoot First" law as a legal defense.

"Shoot First" is dangerous and unnecessary. It's a license to murder, and, if the NRA has its way, it's coming soon to a state near you..

if this makes you want donate to the NRA........

I love the TWO cases that they claimed a 50 cal was used in.

In BOTH cases, the peretrators simply OWNED .50s. In Connecticut, the guy had a .50, in his collection no ammo anywhere near it.

In FL, the guy had a .50, and empty shells for reloading, in a different room. A '38 round was recovered from the police car.

With F being equal to MA, you probably wouldn't survive a hit from a .50.

Yeah, I'm sorry but if you were shot in the head with a .50 BMG, everything from the neck up would be destroyed...trust me on this one.
It is pretty incredible how far they will go to distort the truth when the reality is that far more people in this country are killed by bees every year than have ever been killed by someone using a .50 in a crime. In fact, I didn't see one example of the .50 being used to kill someone here in the US, or did I miss that part? And the best part about their video on the mexican war was that they stated the most dangerous firearm in the conflict was perhaps the FN 5.7, not the might .50!

Maybe they should conduct a scientific experiment where these folk go downrange and see just how much damage a .50 will do to someone without a brain....

35 supposed crimes listed on their site and only one death here in the US with a 50. One LEO killed in the line of duty is one too many, but they want to outlaw these rifles because one person was killed? And who gives a shit about Mexico.

Sorry, the spelling Nazi in me stopped reading after that. Also, I suddenly want to buy a .50 cal.
