    Default Trouble in the neighborhood

Today I was in my driveway washing coal dust and mud off of the quads. We got to ride on Saturday, woohoo. Anyway, the neighbor comes over(Bill) and asks if i saw a rather large black man wandering the area lately. No. He relates to me the following story:
Friday evening around 5, he comes home and he and his wife decide to order hoagies and pick them up and eat them at home. She goes to get them. She comes home, and notices a large black man standing in the driveway of their next door neighbor. He is looking in the side window, and writing something on a piece of paper. She slams the door to get his attention, sort of let him know 'you are being watched'. He starts walking toward her, fast. She runs inside and tells Bill to get out there and why. Bill tells her to lock the door and call 911. She calls 911 and gets the usual runaround. She tells the person answering the phone her husband is having a loud argument with a large black man, not from the neighborhood, and that the guy is advancing up the driveway, send help fast. 911 reponds with, "You're kidding, right?" She screams "send help now", gives the address again, hangs up and calls my house. No answer as I am three blocks over fixing a car for a couple who are down on their luck. She calls 911 back. They tell her they will be sending someone shortly. Response time was 13 minutes. This is 'piss poor' considering at 49 years old, and weighing in at 240 pounds, and having only two years ago quit a 'two pack a day habit', I can still run to just about any point in the township in under(edit: meant to type 'thirteen' here) three minutes from the police station. I shit you not, I can do it, and I am not in the best of shape. Our township cops are known as 'part-timers' by most of the other township cops around here. They are refered to this way for their habit of going in the other direction if there is a 'fight' call or 'disturbance' call, or anything that might entail them putting themselves in danger. Oh, they are real good about showing up in force if you let your shirt ride up over your gun, but only if they know you have lived in the area for twenty years and are a family man with no prior history of problems. Then, they don't have a problem showing up, but only if there are 7 or 8 of them available. Pussies, every one of them!
Anyway, back to the point. Bill is out in his driveway. The guy advances and reaches the property line. Bill holds up his hand to indicate "stop", and asks "can I help you". The guy keeps coming. Bill says "Stop NOW!" The guy states he is only trying to feed his family. What he means by that ,we don't know. He keeps coming, Bill lets him know he is about to get hurt. The guy starts playing the race card. " You don't want me in your driveway because I'm black". Bill tells him it doesn't matter if he is purple and green, he is in the wrong place and in the wrong state of mind. The guy walks up to Bill and sticks his hand in his pocket, as if drawing a gun, Bill steps behind his truck and takes cover. The guy continues up the driveway, passes where Bill is ans says "ignorant white mother-fucker"in a low voice, and continues down the side yard and down the side street and into the park. He goes into an adjacent yard and stops , turns and stares at Bill. There are 4 little girls(age 8-12) in the park and they get scared and run to Bill's house. Bill's wife sends them to their house and follows to make sure they arrive. Black guy comes back toward Bill and stops, turns left and runs through the backyards of two of the other neighbors, and disappears. Cops finally arrive, Bill points out where he went. More cops arrive( I'm seriously resisting the urge to use the word 'pussies' instead of 'cops' here) and ride around the neighborhood 'looking' for the guy. Surprise! He got away.
End of story as related to me. I wasn't there, but I believe Bill and his wife told me exactly the same story later. I think it may have been one of Obama's minions traveling the area and trying to get folks on board with the muslims plans to destroy America. The way it was described to me, I think this is the case. The guy almost seemed to want to get a violent reponse, or get someone to call him the dreaded 'N' word.
I don't know what to make of it, but thank God we have the Castle Doctrine here in PA.

If that story is 100 percent true, thats bad shit. Who knows what the guy's true intentions were. Thats why everyone concerned about the saftey of the family and themselves should never let their guard down, at home or not. Id like to hear an update if you find out anything else.

Yes. I was actually going to suggest that.

Break it up to make it less difficult to follow. Personally, I can't read it like that.

Yes, You guys are right about paragraphs. I was in a hurry to get that down before I had to run out for a bit.
Like it says, I am getting all of this second-hand. It began to sound like the roving teams that Obama had going around to inform people of their plans. This was reported on CNN and FOXNEWS. Except that this guy wasn't a team, and he wasn't friendly, and he refused to id himself when asked. Pretty scary stuff, especially when you take into account there was an 88 year old woman, alone, in the house where he was caught peering in a window, and the little girls in the park.
I really am completely unimpressed with the Warminster police. I know there are some good cops over there, but in the eighteen years I've been a homeowner here, I haven't seen too much that impresses. I have seen a lot that does NOT impress, such as: Chief Clawges that molested his own teenage daughter in the township building and in a township police cruiser outside her middle school (btw, we gave him a quarter of a million dollars severance package to go away), another Chief that stole money from the township to finance hookers and porn and sold overtime and sick days to his officers. Of course, they never did find or fire any of the officers that were every bit as guilty as the Chief.
Then there was the case of Jim Cary, a fine man and a great Officer. He got run out of town and had his career destroyed on trumped up charges because somebody found out he might be gay. Tough shit, he was the best cop this township ever had. Yeah, the Warminster PD does not really inspire confidence in themselves with the citizens of the township. They waste their days rousting honest folks with DOT traps, rather than work at getting the drugs and illegal aliens out of Lacey Park and the Trashwood apartments. It's much safer to write tickets to folks trying to earn an honest living than it is to face a druggie who might actually put up a fight. Two home invasions inside of a year with a total of four murders, all drug related, and yet they don't even look at the source of the drugs, the places I mentioned.
We got a new Chief a while back and he promised to straighten things out. Can't see much of a difference from my neighborhood.

It is possible the man was just upset that people thought he was breaking in (again).

    Who knows.

But your neighbor should have been armed and could have arrested him immediately when he entered his property. Failing compliance, the neighbor could retreat to the home where his duty to retreat stops. I would presume this course as the guy is big and angry and using continuum of force to effect a citizen's arrest not advisable!

In any case, I hope your neighbor has a handgun and LTCF. The fellow might return, afterall.

Yes, the story was relayed to the entire neighborhood by early evening. That is where I went for a bit after typing the story. An informal meeting of neighbors. Anyway, most of the folks here are armed and watching for him now.
We have a very tight knit group of neighbors. Most of us know each other very well and we watch out for our elderly and our young. This started about 18 years ago wit hsome good neighbors and we continue to this day. If somebody new moves in, we show up to empty the truck, or bring food, whatever they need. It let's them know that we are a group of neighbors, and not just a bunch of people in a neighborhood. It is a nice way to live!

OC...OC, sometimes I repeat myself. I keep small 1/2 oz. pepper spray cans in the pockets of most of my coats. I always have one available. It would go as follows:

Me: "STOP!, you must leave immediately".
Shitbird: "Mumble, mumble you don't want me...."
    Me:"PPSSSSTT!!! (OC spraying).
    SB:"AAAHHHHH!!!!! MFer AAAHHHHH!!!!!"

    or

    Me:"Stop, you must leave immediately".
    SB:"Mumble, mumble you don't want..
Me:"(Yelling)Linda (my wife), get my Taser out of my briefcase inside the front door. (to trespasser) Leave, now!".
    SB:"....in your driveway..."
    Me:"BZZTT crckcrckcrckcrck"(Taser deployed)
    SB:AAAHHHH!!!!!!! MFer AAAHHHHHH!!!!"

As you can see, either way, it turns out the same

Sometimes, you can't just shoot them.

Be safe (and remember, sometimes if you are less lethal, you have to be less sorry).
