Man carries slung AR-15 to Obama event
http://www.azcentral.com/community/p...ama-scene.html
pertinent excerpt:
One sight was perhaps a little unnerving to those in charge of making sure everybody remains on their best behavior.
A man, who decided not to give his name, was walking around the pro-health care reform rally at 3rd and Washington streets, with a pistol on his hip, and an AR-15 (a semi-automatic assault rifle) on a strap over his shoulder.
"Because I can do it," he said when asked why he was armed. "In Arizona, I still have some freedoms."
Two police officers were staying very close to the man.
"What he is doing is perfectly legal," Det. J. Oliver, of the Phoenix Police Department
said. "We are here to keep the peace. If we need to intervene, we will intervene at that time."
This guy is a true patriot.Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

Notice the spare magazine for the AR in his back pocket. Cool!
Power always thinks...that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.

Nice that the police didn't freak out. Maybe we should move to AZ

A man with a gun, not just a gun, but a deadly assault rifle, and then this...
All morning long, Phoenix police reported no arrests or calls for medical assistance.

I love it! God bless him.
The obvious message the sight of this well dressed and behaved patriot sends to current administration: Sorry Obama, it's not about camo clad rednecks with a militia fetish. It's about everyday citizens, of all persuasions, that have had it with our out of control .gov_________________________________________

Re: Man carries slung AR-15 to Obama event
I think it is a great idea, another link said this:
“Individuals carrying loaded weapons at these events require constant attention from police and Secret Service officers, thus stretching their protective efforts even thinner,”
Kind of like when POWs screw with the guards, requiring more resources.
Maybe a long-arm open carry event in the future?
Only time I ever open carried a long arm was in the NG. We went offbase to a restaurant and really didn't have a choice unless you consider leaving an M16 in the HMMWV a choice.
