Preemption violation- Delaware Township Park. Resolved**
I was reading the summer 2015 Living Delaware Township newsletter and saw that Akenac Park has a rule:
#11 No Firearms or weapons permitted within the park.
Has this been brought up before? I did a search but you know how that goes.
I will would send a letter, does anyone have any boilerplate for that issue?

Re: Preemption violation- Delaware Township Park.
There's a stickie under the PA Law section.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Warminster township is soon to get a letter from me about a sign that includes 'no guns' verbiage in Warminster Park.

Re: Preemption violation- Delaware Township Park.
I was looking for the stickie and couldn't find it. Would like to see it. Seems to be a little confusion even in this thread as to what exactly preemption is vs. a "rule". Municipalities can make rules concerning firearms as long as they do not criminalize them by ordinance. The latter is prohibited by law and attempts to do so have been struck down by the courts. The prior has not been tested yet.

Re: Preemption violation- Delaware Township Park.
You mean like making a rule that one cannot chew with their mouth open when dining in any restaurant or eatery within the borders of the town? Laws and rules infer an "or else" result from disregarding. What government entity would waste their time making "rules" having no consequences?
