    Default I built a plinker

I did my first 10/22 build on Saturday. Match barrel, 2 lb trigger, recoil buffer, Nikon scope, etc. The bipod folds into the vertical grip.

As pretty as I think it looks I may end up selling the stock for a lighter one. I bought this to shoot offhand but as comfy as the stock is, it's very heavy when combined with the weight of the bull barrel. I don't like how they look at all but I may end up buying on of those ultra-modern wooden stocks to lighten things up at bit.

That's a Christies stock right? How do you like it? I've got a Tapco on mine.

Nice looking 10/22 man. Enjoy it.

Yeah, it's a Christie. I probably would have gone with the tapco to save money but at least as far as I could see they didn't make any for bull barrels. Like I said, the stock is quite a bit heavier than I would have liked but it feels VERY solid and ergonomic. The rubber pad on the back makes for a great cheek weld.

What forward grip is that? I'm looking to put a tapco stock on my 10/22 sometime. Probably first get a scope. So far only have the bolt buffer, extended mag release, and auto-bolt release mods.

Built mine about four years ago for bench competition. Green Mountain bull, Boyd's/Volquartsen stock, Simmons 8-24 scope, all the rest Volquartsen. You'll need to experiment and find out what to feed your particular setup. Mine likes Wolf Match best. It'll shoot a 3/8" (or less) group all day.

I can't recall where exactly I got it but I found quite a few ranging from $20 to as high as over $100. I just bought the cheapy since I'd only be using it to sight it in, and of course for the photos. Do a google search for "grip pod" and you should find quite a few choices.

My barrel is Green Mountain as well. Yeah, from what I gather each individual 10/22 seems to have different ammo preferences. The first time I took it out I had quite a FTFs with winchester but perhaps that was just during the break in period, the more I shot the more reliable it became throughout the day. I just ordered some aguila from Midway just for something to compare it to.

I must have 12 or 15 different kinds of ammo before I settled on the Wolf Match, and that's regular Match, not Match Gold. Worst grouping was with CCI and Remington Match.
