    A friend of mine had some 7.62 brass he gave me. la78 7.62 r1 m1 anyone out there can id this it would be helpfull.

    R1M1 code indicates it is South African......and not reloadable...it is all berdan primed.

    The "la" is a production code/lot number of some sort and the "78" indicates the year of manufacture.
