Rainbow Trout
I'm "hunting" rainbow trout tomorrow.
What is your best Rainbow Trout catching bait?
I use corn and worms.
Anybody have anything that works better?http://www.slcfsa.com/index.html

Re: Rainbow Trout
Corn is probably one of the best things out there for bait hooks.
I also have a fly that I tied years ago that never fails.

I don't fish for trout, too many crazies out and about but I thought you maybe in interested in this tidbit.
The Berkley fishing website has a 50% off coupon code going atm if you buy on their site and use the code jarberkley.

Re: Rainbow Trout
I'll be litter patroling as much as fishing on the MC here in Northampton County tomorrow, but you probably have the top two rainbow baits especially for early season. I've caught hatchery rainbows on bubble gum even. As far as fly fishing for them? That's another story. My fly tying skills...well lets put it this way, the flies I tie look like little balls of dryer lint.
PlinkerMy dog "Ruger" is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money.

Re: Rainbow Trout
i don't fish in PA, too many people crowd you on PA streams, plus the one around me are real shitty. for my fishin i travel to the Peoples republic of Maryland
i went down for the first day on the 28th and the group i was with was tearing up on berkley power eggs, particularly the orange ones. 5 of us caught like 60 some over the weekend which wasnt very good for us. rain and muddy creeks don't make for good fishin. salmon egg natural colored powerbait was working too.
i mostly use minnows that i rig through the body with a double hook. or if i'm feeling lazy just a single hook up under the chin and through the head.
then again, a couple of the trout we caught had pieces of wood, gravel and even a cigarette butt in their stomachs. so almost anything will work if they are hungry enough.

Re: Rainbow Trout
If you are going to be heading to a place that gets hit up pretty frequently, you are going to have a hard time catching trout. They are pretty much spooked by all the people and become very picky about what they'll eat. My recommendation is to bring a combination of bait. Generally, corn always works but then if that is what everyone else is, or was, using...you're not going to catch jack. I generally like to switch up between meal worms and spinner bait. Last season, I caught the most trout using spinner bait. I fish at the Norristown Farm Park.
