Selling ammo and feeling a bit queasy with guilt
I'm sitting here trying to decide not only what to sell tomorrow at the Valley Forge show, but how much, and I'm having a massive case of guilt for (a) even thinking of getting rid of any of it and (b) what I might charge for it, given the going prices that I've seen from some people.
Evidently, some, if not most decent 7.62x39 is unobtanium, as is decent 62 grain 5.56x45, if one can judge by the prices that I've seen. I'm not sure of ever being able to replace any of it easily, yet there are a few things that I'd like to have done or get with regards to the gun stuff, and this is the only responsible way to do it, short of hocking a nut.
At any rate, somebody give me an idea of what percentage of the going rate I should go at in a FTF, and make me feel better about not being able to give this away like lollipops at a bank. When I get over my guilt pangs I'll be listing it over in Classifieds, so don't take this as a teaser, and it'll strictly be first-come, first-served for PAFOAns on Saturday morning in the parking lot. I'm not sure yet what I'll be moving, but there might be more than the two calibers mentioned.

If you still have guns in those calibers, and you still have a source of income, don't sell it. My .02
You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

Yeah no such thing as too much ammo if you have a gun that is in those calibers.

Don't sell it unless you absolutely need the money ASAP.
Judging by current price trends, and economic conditions, it will only go up in price.==============

wolf 7.62x39---about $250 per 1k.
62g LC m855 5.56---about $420-$450 per 1k.EDIT--I stand corrected--there is some guy on another site selling m855 for $800 for 840 rounds---so go with that
I wouldn't sell it though---without ammo, your gun is just a club .Last edited by Guns4Fun; March 13th, 2009 at 08:56 PM.

Re: Selling ammo and feeling a bit queasy with guilt
I agree with everyone else. In fact, I sold off my 7.62x39 guns and ammo so I could consolidate to guns of 5.56/.223, 7.62x54R, and 12 gauge so I could afford MORE ammo for each. I felt guilty about selling an RPK and SKS that I loved so I bought myself a PSL and now I feel good enough to sell the last two SKS Yugos. When those go, I may pick up a Galil in .223.
