Anyone else noticed increased military air in NE PA?
*removing tin foil hat*
Seriously, I have noticed more military air over the last couple of weeks. Mostly Blackhawks in formation and today, an A-10. Always low, like under 5K feet and along the Delaware River. Sometimes from West to East over Rt. 78.
I don't live near a base nor do I live under the landing pattern for ABE.
It's almost as if they use the Delaware River as a North/South highway and Rt. 78 as an East/West highway. Which would make sense I guess since they are both easily identifiable landmarks.

I was hiking in the Delaware Water Gap rec area yesterday morning, jets roaring overhead every few minutes. And low enough to make a lot of noise through the woods. Some choppers as well.

I haven't noticed any more than usual. I have noticed lately that there have been a lot more civilian helicoptors flying rather low, about 1000 to 2000 ft.

Over the summer, pair of A-10's and some other jets doing low runs over the lake at Beltzville on several different occassions. And I've seen loads of "military" vehicles on the road. Though it was just reserve and NG moving about pre/post deployments.

Re: Anyone else noticed increased military air in NE PA?
Well, LVIA is literally in my back yard (well, bordering my back yard...), and I've noticed a large increase in air traffic on the (presumably) secondary runway that goes over my house. Haven't taken notice if it's military or not, as the traffic is mostly at night...

Pictures would be nice. All I see from Pittsburgh are tankers and C-130's.
I vote the second first
