Any of you ever shot w/ airsoft gun?

I was just wondering cause I am thinking of getting one for bug control around the house. Last year and on some of the warm days so far this year, we have had some stink bugs around. Raid only makes them wet it doesn't effect them any other way. So I thought a fun way to control the problem would be to shoot them with an air soft gun. My question is....if you have been shot with one.....do you think it would damage vinyl siding?

they're what? a 6mm plastic pellet at something 200fps?
i can't see that hurting siding.

Depends, some of them are 100fps, some are 300 or more.......the pellets are a bit light, and seem to curve greatly. Thay leave a heck of a welt when shot up close.....I don't suppose you have some spare pieces laying around, that you can shoot?

ETA....I would try it for you I think I have a piece of siding here somewhere, unfortunately kids airsoft gun broke in 1 day.......what do ya want for 12 bucks, LOL

I know if the siding's cold, it'll knock a hole in it. My wife's cousin put about 3 holes in the siding of his parent's house with one. Now, in the summer when the siding's much warmer and should be a bit flexible, who knows, maybe it'd just give a little and be fine.

There's a reason they are called stink bugs. If you piss them off or squish them they emit a foul odor.

Having them emit stink when they are shot a few feet away from you seems better than in your hand when ya squish em'. Nasty moldy smell from them suckers.

But I agree, I wouldnt want "stink bug" guts everywhere... lol

I'd say it depends on the velocity. The cheap guns probably won't make enough FPS to damage anything but they also are not very accurate.

I haven't seen any injuries like the ones in the picture, and we've played in some small spaces.

We played in an apartment once and the BB's put holes or cracks in some plastic/rubber storage boxes, light switches, some went half way through a cheap door and are still stuck inside it (hollow door), but almost all of those were shot from a high-end airsoft gun.

WOW! some pictures! I picked up three of the beretta 92 look alikes from walmart, The kids grabbed theirs and I took the last one. They will leave a little red welt at indoor distances on bare skin, and accuracy is so-so at best over 20 feet. If you get the green pellets, they tend to blend in with the grass.
