Re: Man in a sandstorm
Wow, is Obama cutting back on the military spending? You gotta take your own rifle to Iraq these days?

Re: Man in a sandstorm
The irony is that the last time the Battalion deployed into a 'real' combat zone (NW Europe), the Bad Guys were carrying these rifles (Model 1939 K98 dated 1940).

Re: Man in a sandstorm
Nice. I had one with all the marking in tac but came with a miss matched bolt also. Didn't shoot well, but was a interesting piece. looks like it's in good shape.

Re: Man in a sandstorm
When my cousin was in Afghanistan for the first time he biught 5 rifles for $40USD for the lot. The dates ranged from 1830-1935 but I can't remember exactly what they all were but he got a Mauser, some type of lever action, and a breech loader. He shipped them back home and had them checked for function, 3 of 5 worked and all had zero rust because its so dry there.
