Default My New Mossberg 500 Shotgun

I was looking at a Ruger 10/22 online yesterday. Today, I was talking to a guy at work today and showed him the Ruger online. I said, "I want either a .22 or a shotgun for small game hunting." He says, "I have a shotgun I want to sell." I ask him what it is and he says it is a Mossberg Model 500 12 gauge. He bought it new in 1987 for his son. After he divorced, his wife got custody and he took all the guns. It was only shot a few times with his son. So I ask him how much and he tells me $175. Now I'm definitely interested.

So after work I head down his house to check it out. The gun is flawless. Not a mark on it. The blueing looks like brand new. We head up to the shooting range and I fired it. It shoots awesome. I can't wait for this weekend to go blast some clays with it.

Lots of luck... $175 is a great price for a Mossberg.

I have four Mossberg 12 gauge pumps, 2 500's and 2 590's. I have never had a problem with any of them. They will do whatever you need. Enjoy!

got a 500 myself, very reliable. she ain't as fancy with the woodstock and all, but she's real "evil black" menacing looking with a collapsible and shell-mounts, and a real workhorse! definitely a great deal too!!

My mom WOULD NOT understand this purchase. There is nothing I could say that would make her understand. "It was a great price!" "I need a gun to go small game hunting with!" Nothing would have worked.

So here's how I got it in the house. I told her after work that I was going to go shoot one of my rifles. I took the SKS out of the case. I then took the empty case and my range bag and left. Then, I came back in the house with the case (no longer empty) and my range bag and she was none the wiser.

Deceitful? Yes. But I'll deal with that rather than listen to her bitch about buying a gun.
