Default Took the boy shooting part 2

Yesterday, my son and i went to a shoot. Here are some pics of him shooting from behind cover etc.

The first pic is him trying to look bad azz in his gear.

The second pic is him shooting 5 shots for time---he managed to shoot all 5 on target in 2.8 seconds. Notice the brass still in the air.

The third and fourth pics are of him shooting behind a barricade.

We had a great time---this was his first time doing this style shoot. Now he thinks he's ready to be a sniper .

Nice to see another Marlin Model 60 on the range. My daughter is very comfortable with hers. She fired 177/200 average for her first NRA Light Rifle (Pro-Marksman) with Model 60.

She even had a few of her Senior pictures taken with it in some shooting attire.

yeah , had my 15 year old son out for the first time about two weeks
ago , just shooting 22 long rifles from a Lakefield rifle and a Ruger pistol
    22/45 , man we had a great time !!!
I'll tell you one thing , that little Ruger , well , I can only say , money
well spent , at the end of our ammo I had 7 rounds left , I shot at the 100
yard target , no scope , I was not wearing my glasses , f#$king target
looked like a half an inch big , got 5 of the 7 in the 4 inch center circle !!

The boy says he can't wait to go again .

Yessir....the good old Mod 60. She works just as great as when new many, many moons ago: by the 200th round she jams up and needs a cleaning!

I was just looking at the Light Rifle Quals last nite with my daughter. She's definitely interested so it looks like we'll be persuing it!

Is that a Marlin? I started my daughter on one like that. She was only six at the time.

Yeah... 3rd generation hand-me-down. She just turned 12 and I started her at 7. She has become a pretty good shot. No interest in hunting but loves putting holes in paper and shooting clays. Going to look into competitive shooting for next year and give that a try.
