Default Looking for a good leather IWB holster

    Hello everyone,

I am in the market for a good leather IWB holster for my new Sig P220 Carry Elite. I already have a CrossBreed holster for my glock 30 and love it, but the reason I am looking for a all leather holster is I think it will be more forgiving on the Nitron finish of the Sig, otherwise I would definitley buy another CrossBreed.

Does anyone Have any recomendations on Brands to look at, maybe what features to look for. I realy don't have any experience with all leather holsters at all, I usually have used Kydex (CompTac) or leather and Kydex such as the CrossBreed.

Would the Kydex be hard on the finish of the Sig? I know I have some light traces of marks on my Glocks and they are supposed to have one of the best finishes around.

    Thanks

This guy makes great holsters. You might wait since he is busy, but you get what you pay for. I have been very happy with mine.

This is a recurring question. The concensus seems to be that kydex itself is a little harder on the finish than leather, BUT leather tends to attract and hold onto grit and sand and other things which are also hard on the finish.

    I don't think there's a definitive answer.

I use a Milton Sparks for my full size 1911 IWB and its comfortable, easy to work with, just a super sweet holster in my opinion.

I looked on Milt Sparks web site. They look like very nice holsters, but the wait time is 6 months for delivery. I guess they must be popular. I don't mind spending the money if I know I would like them. Just don't want to end up with a 100.00 or so holster laying in the drawer.

I looked around on gunbroker and ebay but didn't see any used. I guess that is a good sign.

Super good quality and finding a used one...is ahh, laughable...I bought mine from Brownells, new. They had it in stock and I had it within a couple days. If you go on Milton Sparks website, I think they have links to outlets that have some of their holsters in stock.

http://www.miltsparks.com/ click on the links page, at bottom click on cool links and find alpha listing of links..brownells...http://www.brownells.com/

She makes some nice 'bespoke' holsters for a good price - she doesn't show a SIG 220, so I'm not sure if she makes a holster for that model.

For IWB, I'd look for the type that puts the belt loops on each side of the gun, instead of right on it. It offers more support and stability.

There are plenty other mass producers out there that are of fine quality, too.

Great holster but Kevin isn't accepting any new orders and hasn't for almost two months. I sent an email requesting when he will, but no response as of yet. You might want to check into littlebearholsters.com
