New (to me) Walther P-88 !!! woohoo!!!
I've been looking for one of these for years, and i finally found a deal and jumped on it. Hasn't been to the range yet (maybe tomorrow), but i am looking forward to it very much!
Came with 5 mags total, one original factory, and 4 mecgar, two of which had new springs put in them. The finish is a little rough on the slide and controls, but internals look great.
So my thoughts are maybe to have the slide and controls refinished with NP3... any thoughts ?

Re: New (to me) Walther P-88 !!! woohoo!!!
One pointer. Those pistols were made with very tight chambers. What I would do is to not use any Wolf or Blazer ammo in it (steel and generally aluminium cases respectively). Buy a simple tool from Midway Arms that measures whether any ammo is within specs. Effectively it is a block of metal that has been drilled to match a standard chamber. Alternatively, take the barrel out, mount it vertically and check the ammo before using it by dropping the rounds in and checking if they chamber cleanly.
I know, it sounds a PITA but the alternative is a jammed pistol that is rather difficult to fix. How do I know? Just think a little!!
Enjoy it. I have the younger brothers, the P99s from Germany (not S&W) in 0.40 and 9 mm. Dave_n
