    Default NRA Life Member

I have been told that current NRA life members are eligible to offer lifetime membership to other friends/family at a greatly discounted rate. (It is usually $1000 for life member and I believe the offer is for $300)

I have been considering upgrading to life member but the $1000 has been keeping me from doing it.

Anyone here happen to be a life member and can confirm/deny what I have heard?

    Thanks!
    John

I know the NRA periodically offers "sales" on their premium membership levels, but can't say that I'm aware of the specific offer you've mentioned.

You may also be interested in the "Easy Pay Life" program. You can pay in installments, and your payments continue until you fulfill the full amount. I pay $25 per quarter. One of these days, I'm going to find one of these 'discounts', and call and ask if they will promote me if I pay the full difference between my current amount paid, and the offered amount. I'm guessing they will, and this will give me the full benefit of both the special offer, and spreading out the payments on the amount I actually do end up paying.

Found this (looks like it was offered early in 2008 and is expired now):

How to get an NRA life membership cheap -- if you act really fast

"With the upcoming elections, it's a good time to join the NRA if you've been thinking about it. And if you're like me, and you've been thinking of joining as a life member, they're giving you an unadvertised chance to do it really cheap. Life membership currently runs a thousand bucks. But until February 15th, 2008 -- -- if you join as a referral from an existing life member, you can become one yourself for just $300. And you don't need an application form; you can do it right over the phone.

You need the NRA life member to give you his or her membership number, name, and address (for verification purposes). Call the NRA (877-NRA-2008), tell them you're joining through the promotion. When they ask for membership number give them the life member's, then verify the name and the address. Then give 'em your credit card number and pick your magazine -- and that's it; you're an NRA life member. Or will be when your membership packet arrives".

Again, this is an expired offer.

Periodically the NRA offers life members an opportunity to purchase a life membership as a gift for a family member at a greatly reduced price. It does not have to be an immediate family member and the offer has a time limit. Last Jan. I bought one for my nephew for $300.
The older I get, the better I used to be.

Not sure if it is expired. But that's how my parents just paid for my life membership since my dad was a life member already. even the 550 for youth is high. Should be getting the card anytime soon now...

I'm doing the EPL as well.

I think it was $700.00 when I joined.

Hmmmmmm......I just renewed in November, but don't remember seeing the deal for upgrade to life member. Then again, I get so much mail from them that it could have gotten lost in the shuffle....

Anyone here a life member who would like to 'sponsor' me to upgrade to life member?
