Question about replacement revolver from manufacturer
If you send something back for repair and they replace it with a new gun/serial number do they need to send it to an FFL for pick up and new PICS if the owner is a PA resident?

Re: Question about replacement revolver from manufacturer
No. Replacement of the item purchased by an "authorized" person requires no transfer through an FFL. Do not worry about it and be glad that customer service is doing you a good turn.
Do you have an interesting return/defect story with a wheel gun??? I would enjoy reading about it.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: Question about replacement revolver from manufacturer
Thank you Steve_NEPhila for your input.
I was under the impression that if the gun was repaired and still had the same serial# it would be shipped back to the original owner but if it was replaced, thus having a different serial#, it would have to go through a dealer.
In a private conversation with TheBuckslayer that's what I told him I thought the rules/laws dictate. I even did a little bit of looking around on PAFOA and other places on the web and thought I had sufficient support for my opinion.
I'm going to stay tuned to get an education.
Can anyone cite a specific source to support Steve and prove me wrong? (I hope so).

Re: Question about replacement revolver from manufacturer
Here's from the BATFE:
Q. Would the transfer of a replacement firearm from the licensee to the owner of the damaged firearm be subject to the requirements of the Brady law?
A. Neither the transfer of a repaired firearm nor the transfer of a replacement firearm would be subject to the requirements of the Brady law. Furthermore, the regulations provide that a Form 4473 is not required to cover these transactions. However, the licensee’s permanent acquisition and disposition records should reflect the return of the firearm or the transfer of a replacement firearm.

Xring beat me to it.
Add that fact to the absence of a "registration' in Pennsylvania and you are good to go. The important thing to note is that the manufacturer is licensed to do this exact activity.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!
