Federal jobs in PA?

Other than corrections...what oportunities are there for federal jobs in PA? I grew up near altoona/johnstown and I'm now in the Army as a 2LT... I'll probably return to the PA guard after I make Captain in a few years and plan on possibly moving back and doing something with the federal gov. I'll have a TS clearance by then. I know there is an office that DOJ works out of in Johnstown. I'd consider FBI but I know they do not put you where you want to go...at least right away. Are there any options out there or should I just consider PSP or something along those lines? Thanks!

+1 for the last post. Once on that site, query "1896". That job classification is your basic Federal LEO (if that is what you want). I know ICE just closed a posting on the 22nd of August for IEA agents working in prisions. Keep your eyes peeled. As a 2LT you already know how good the G can be, and if you stay with the feds, you can buy your time back!

No it isn't, thats the Border Patrol's classification.

And depending on which branch of the fed you go to, your TS will NOT transfer, though it will help out (esp if you have a lifestyle poly to go along with it). All of the Fed LEO branches have offices in PA, however as a newbie, you more than likely wouldn't get an office in PA right out of CITP. One of my buddies got picked up by DEA and was lucky enough to get DC (and actually came out to a bust I was involved in) and another went to Marshal's Service in DC as well.

If you're thinking of going guard, there is always the federal technician program, or else an Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) position.
Both Army and Air have these programs.
