Default Obama backs off on gun ban

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30389664

I know that I had heard rumors that Obama wasn't going to re-instate the assault weapons ban but was unable to find any evidence of such until now. I figure that there would be some people here that had heard the same rumors as I did and would be glad to see this article.

Don't be fooled on the what the Dems tell you. They will give you $10 and slip $15 out of your wallet while your not looking. Obama is a snake in the grass and he is looking at other avenues to ban guns instead on the front page.

Keep your eyes open on the ratification of CIFTA, the UN's Millenium Development Goals, Global Poverty Act and the Law of the Sea Treaty (LoST). Each one of these Treatys has clauses in them that strictly restrict firearms in the possession of citizens. If not outright bans, the clauses are so broad that BB guns can fall under them. With any thing governments do, they all seem to imply the best of intensions...where have you heard that before??

Do you really trust him to back off? With Billary's and Pelosi's constant whispering in his ear, I fear that this will turn out to be nothing more than a temporay ruse. Now is not the time to let our guard down.

There's a poll on that site, half way down, in the middle of the article. I voted! You should too! (71.5% saying no ban reinstatement)

Yes. We had the ban for 10 years. He should use up whatever political capital is necessary to reinstate the ban.

No. It was a mistake the first time around and it would be a mistake again. Existing gun laws are enough.

Maybe. Owning a gun is a right, but I'm conflicted as to whether or not average Americans should be able to own assault weapons.

At near the bottom of the page there is a link called "Discuss on Newsvine". Be warned, there are some rabid leftist on that site. In fact the whole site almost appears to far left loons and exists only to discredit the right in anyway possible. I post there frequently (same name) just to antagonize the gun-grabbers. If you want, join up (no charge) and put your two cents in. It drives them batty especially when you offer facts and not ideology.
