I saw that on CBS this AM but then I thought, why would I buy a gun a Dick's anyways? They know more about sneakers and basketball nets then guns.

I don't think you will see Gander Mountain, Cabela's or Bass do the same, not at the rate they are selling right now.

Gander, Dunhams, and Bass Pro were doing a booming business over the weekend. Dunhams and Gander had Bushmaster ORC's on sale, and they were going fast. No sign of them pulling anything.

Boycott Dicks. So much for their love of the 2A.

I am officially done with them.

It's their business, but, IMO, foolish, knee jerk move. Do car manufacturers/ alcohol producers stop selling cars/ booze when a drunk driver kills someone with/ after consuming their product? Are there cries to ban them?
A Republic, if you can keep it.

I contacted them and told them I was finished shooping there......others should do the same. No longer can we be the silent majority.

Oh well guess I will not be buying anything from Dick's anymore. Darn they were convenient.

I think that this is a great idea. It is the right thing to do. I will do more shopping at Dick's. I hope other gun stores ban the assult rifles. Hopefully Obama will have the courage to follow through on assult rifle control.

How do you know they "pulled" them? Perhaps they're just sold out. It surely wouldn't take long to sell all five or six they usually have in stock.

Based on the sales at the Dick's in Mechanicsburg I'd be willing to bet they sell very few semis. The same Remington ARs sit on the shelf for months at a time because their prices are far from the best in the area. My guess is recent events are only part of the reason they made this move. Anyone with a small amount of marketing knowledge knows it is not financially smart to carry/stock items that don't sell.

    Either way I wouldn't buy a gun at Dick's.

It will be interesting to see what the other retailers (specifically WalMart) will do.
