Hope for Brits after all? GATSO (speed camera) vandalism.

Saw this posted on another site, found it interesting thought I would share here.

Seems the Brits aren't all that happy with the Big Brother, revenue generation from speed cameras, they have taken to throwing burning tires around them.

As much fun as it is to see those cameras damaged by "patriots", I can't help but wonder: Don't the British elect their representative government, just as do we?

Yes, but like any government - once they are in they do whatever they feel instead of what the people desire.

Maybe the Brits need to mount their cameras higher up, like our traffic cameras in this country. You can bet not only the traffic news people are using them. I have no doubt law enforcement keeps a watchful eye on traffic with them as well.

If you watch the show Top Gear, you will hear constant expressed hatred of speed cameras. But in most places they warn you when they are coming. So it's not like they are sneakingly getting you, but they def. deter people from speeding.
