What do you bring along on a range trip?
Let me know what you bring along (and why if it isn't obvious). Trying to make a checklist so I don't accidentally forget something. I've seen people who have minimalist rigs who have to stop shooting when they have minor trouble and I've seen people who practically wheel up a tool chest.
My list (so far):
Firearms
Correct ammo for whatever firearms i am bringing
Magazines for said firearm
Speed loaders if i have them for the magazines
Bipod
Eye protection
Ear protection
Targets
Staple gun
Tape
Markers/pens to write on and mark up targets
Screwdrivers
Bits
Small hammer
Punches
Needle nose pliers
Clp/oil
Rag

A carry gun that is not being shot that day. I don't want to end up in a situation where someone is looking to roll up on me and take my stuff and everything with me is unloaded or just ran dry.

I also take an extra gun with me for just in case. Also, don't forget your First Aid kit, again for just in case someone might be in need of it.

Do you have a special first aid kit just for shooting? I ask because i imagine humidity and temperature could cause any adhesive backed tapes to degrade fairly rapidly. If so, how often do you replace any adhesive items in your kit? And bare minimum for first aid?

Re: What do you bring along on a range trip?
I'm often alone at my range, and I've often wondered how easy it would be for some punk to jump the fence and run the 20 yards to the rifle shooting structure and lock and load my rifle while I'm down at the 100 yard targets setting up. Even a decent carry gun wouldn't help me stop somebody from taking my rifle(s) and running....

Good lists - I also take Wet Wipes. Shooting lead hand loads (and 22 rimfire) can get dirty. Wipes keep me from getting hand prints on my cloths and fabric in the car. I started using wet wipes when shooting indoors where I would also wipe the lead residue off my face as recommended by the range. I always offer them to friends I shoot with when we're done. Every one gladly accepts.

Re: What do you bring along on a range trip?
It wouldn't be difficult at all in reality. I've started slinging up and carrying my rifle down with me to change targets. I usually only bring one with me for the day so it's not unreasonable. I think the chances are extremely low of this occurrence, but it's something to think about for sure.
Good idea. Another tip while we are on the subject is to always wash your hands after shooting with COLD water as to not have your pores open up and allow ingress of lead.
