Default Utah Liberal Wants A Separation Of Gun And State Policy

It’s become a tradition for the Utah State legislature to issue a commemorative firearm each year to celebrate the role of the firearm in the state’s independence. This year they have picked an AR-15 emblazoned with the state seal and motto. The selection of this particular rifle has one liberal writer from The Herald Journal hopping mad and calling for a church-and-state-like separation of gun and state policy.

In Soapbox: Sex, guns and the Utah Legislature writer John Kushma thinks picking an AR-15 to represent the state of Utah for 2015 is bad optics:

That's fine, but then he shouldn't expect the state to protect him with a gun.

So he'll be calling for the state-funded police forces to turn in their guns?

I agree with him. The State has shown over and over again they can not be trusted with firearms.
