You may need a promoter's license from the state as well. Many moons ago I was involved with a historic group and we needed that for our show. Sorry I cannot be more specific, it has been a long time.

What is a Promoter?
A person who either directly or indirectly rents, leases or otherwise operates or grants permission to any person to use space at a show (ex. flea market, antique, coin, card, stamp show) for the display for sale or for the sale of tangible personal property or services subject to tax. Any enterprise wanting to be a Promoter, needs to obtain a Promoter License by completing a PA-100, Pennsylvania Enterprise Registration Form.
What are the Promoter’s responsibilities under Pennsylvania Law?
Annually file an application for the license, at least 30 days prior to the first show of the year.
Maintain records of the date and place of each show, including name, address and Sales Tax license number for all vendors, for three years, unless shortened or extended by the Department.
Not allow anyone to display for sale or sell taxable tangible personal property or services unless the vendor has a valid Sales Tax License. In America arms are free merchandise such that anyone who has the capital may make their houses into armories and their gardens into parks of artillery. - Ira Allen, 1796

How big? Firehouse do? Don't think a firehouse exists that doesn't know how to play the game.

make it corn dogs and im in
all good points
i never understood how private sellers, not that i have an issue with that happening one bit ('Merica!), slide through the "sales tax ID" info bit.
Must just be one of those - Here is the law! We dont really care to enforce it though, go about your business, nothing to see here.Last edited by Nate7667; January 7th, 2015 at 08:55 AM.

Seriously, when comparing and contrasting the Pittsburgh region gun shows, the Washington Fairgrounds show gets a "+1" because of the chili dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. I can live with going to a gun show and going home without a deal, but only if I have something tasty in my belly.

Re: Need Info: Gun Show StartUp
My club has one every year. We promote it kind of like a Sportsman's Flea Market and permit firearms and any related items. Both FFL's and private sellers rent tables. Yes, we do have members selling personal items like tools and such. We hold this at our gun club, both indoor and outdoor tables.
Another gun club down the street does the same thing.
The venue is small when compared to the well know local gun shows, but many more deals are available.
As far as I know, we didn't need to do anything special to hold this. We did have a FFL present to do transfers when required by law.
Admission was free.Toujours prêt

Working them from open to close both days, i agree.
I hate brown bagging it or stopping at Sheetz and eating room temp food 4-5 hours later.
Washington County - pulled pork
Indiana County - nachos (it helps being at a hockey arena that is open at the same time)
Monroeville - ....just order a pizza from somewhere and have it delivered.
